Precious Little Time

I've had very little time this summer to work on my genealogy, but I have been able to spend some precious time with my 4 children before school starts in the fall. I try to enjoy each day, but I'll admit that sometimes I start dreaming about that first day of school! (41 days...not that I'm counting!)

SVAR recently made available the 1930 census of Sweden. There isn't any sort of index, which makes it challenging to look for people. However, I did notice for the county of Västernorrland that the parishes seem to be in the same order as they are on the map located here: http://www.foark.umu.se/census/y/map.htm So that has been very helpful to me.
I did find Brita Johanna (Harlin) Abrahamsson with her family in the census. She was the sister to my great-grandfather Olof Johan Harlin/Hallin.
I also found some of the children/grandchildren of Per Valentin Harlin, who was the brother of Olof Johan Harlin/Hallin.
SVAR has also recently published SCB extracts up to the year 1937. It's a bit tedious to just browse through them, but if you know the year and parish of the information you're looking for, it's extremely cool to be able to go up to 1937! Several of the years have already been indexed by parish--very helpful.

You can expect more updates to my website in the fall. In the meantime...enjoy the summer fun!
