Genline

I went to a great workshop yesterday put on by the Swedish company Genline. www.genline.com They have digitized millions of pages of church records and have made them available online. I have a yearly subscription (of course!) and it has by far been the most useful tool that I've used in tracing my Swedish ancestry--back to the early 1700s!

If you have a chance to attend one of their workshops in the future, I recommend going. While I have already found literally thousands of documents for my own family (I've gotten pretty good at it by now!) it was exciting to hear about their new project www.bygdeband.se . Check it out! And it was awesome meeting some Swedish genealogists. :-) Everybody who knows how much I love both genealogy AND Sweden, understands what a thrill that is for me.

My dad came with me and it was fun to share the afternoon with him. We've already been talking about planning a trip to Sweden in a year or two.
